The First Medical Marijuana Dispensary in Oakland County

Oakland County proudly welcomed its first licensed medical marijuana dispensary on February 1st with a 2,000-square-foot provisioning center with plans to expand our stores and handle recreational products in the future. The GREENHOUSE is part of an initiative throughout Michigan to provide access to high-quality products as well as education about the benefits of cannabis. We have a mission to help our community with pain and other health conditions using cannabis is all its forms including flower, balms, rubs, edibles, and more quality products. Learn more about our safe, inviting environment and how our location in Walled Lake is unique!

What Makes Our Cannabis Dispensary Unique?

As the first licensed cannabis dispensary in Oakland County, The GREENHOUSE stands out among other dispensaries in Michigan and unlicensed options in the area. We are a locally-owned business with a heavy focus on our community that is shown through our commitment to engagement and education. We offer patient-specific counseling to assist our patients in finding the right form of cannabis to best manage their conditions and symptoms safely and effectively.

It is better to purchase medicinal marijuana from a state-licensed provisioning center like ours to guarantee the product is monitored from seed to sale, ensuring you get a clean and safe product.

The Future of Medical Marijuana in Michigan

Since medical marijuana was legalized in Michigan, the gateway to a multibillion-dollar industry has opened with a promise for economic growth across the state. Some economists have predicted that the industry could generate up to $556 million annually for the state of Michigan by 2020. Regulations for recreational marijuana businesses in Michigan are expected to be established by the end of the year. Licensed medicinal marijuana dispensaries like The GREENHOUSE of Walled Lake have become examples of properly-managed, by-the-book operations and we will be the first in line for a recreational license as soon as they are available.

In fact, we expect to open up two more stores to handle recreational marijuana products in the future and continued plans for grow and processing operations. As Michigan follows the path of the many states that have recognized the benefits of both medicinal and recreational Marijuana, we plan to continue to stay on the cutting edge for the Oakland County community!

Why Michigan Consumers Might Choose Medical Marijuana Over Pharmaceuticals

As more and more states legalize cannabis, more people will use marijuana instead of a number of prescription drugs. Many studies have reported that the benefits of CBD include relief from insomnia, anxiety, spasticity, pain, epilepsy, and more potentially life-threatening conditions. Medicinal cannabis is alluring to those avoiding opiates as it is far less addictive and impossible to overdose on. It is also looked to as an alternative to NSAIDs like Advil or Aleve for people with kidney problems, ulcers, or GERD. As opposed to many pharmaceuticals, patients have claimed that medical marijuana allows them to resume their daily activities without feeling disengaged and “out of it”.

One customer of our dispensary, Victoria Mladenobic, shared "I have a lot of arthritis pain and it seems to be the only thing that helps, and I don't want to do any opioid or that type of medication and this helps."

Talk to your doctor about substituting pharmaceuticals for medical marijuana and you will start to notice the difference in no time!
