Michigan Approves New Conditions for Medical Marijuana
New state approved qualifying medical conditions
Last month the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) recognized with the changes in state law, which now includes marihuana-infused products and the promising advancement in marihuana research, that additional medical conditions can benefit from cannabis. This is fantastic news for the elderly who suffer with arthritis, parents of autistic children looking for a natural route in treating the disease and those that struggle with the other recently approved conditions.
Michigan medical marihuana law now covers and condones the use of cannabis for a total of 26 medical conditions. As of October 2017, according to Leafly, Illinois is at 42 and Connecticut has 30, our recent additions makes Michigan the third highest in the country for qualifying conditions for the use of medical marihuana.
The Greenhouse of Walled Lake hopes to see more additions by the state in the future. By allowing more people with medical conditions to access cannabis as a medication, we will be helping to curb the devastation of the opioid crisis and enhance the quality of life in our patients.
